Welcome to Shangri-La. Ananda is the ancient Sanskrit word for bliss & this dry hopped, juicy beer is our version of just that! Malted & flaked wheat create a velvety texture just before the citrus hop notes explode into pure nirvana. Meditation of sophistication.

Ananda India Pale Ale has a medium, off-white head, a hazy, orange-gold appearance, with huge globs of gray-yellow yeast, and thin lacing left on the glass. The aroma is pretty dead, just hardly any smell, but you might pick up some very low-level pale malt or a hint of citrus. Taste is also fairly dulled out, but I detected some sweet & sour sauce, pale malt (white bread), and bitterness that seems must less bitter or sharp than what one would expect from a 61 IBU beer. Mouthfeel is light and watery (maybe high-light), and Ananda IPA finishes limped and dull. RJT

Was told this was the local brewery of note. Not a bad IPA though kinda run of the mill. Fruity and astringent, but a little malty somewhere in the middle. Canít quite pin down the exact time that malt flavor hits my lips during a casual sip, but thereís prevalence. Now Iím just rambling. Not a bad beer.

12oz can poured at home - no canning date on it. No aroma really to speak of, but pours a very clear yellow/golden pour - has some decent lacing in the glass. Nothing special about this beer, nothing terribly bad about it.

Poured from a can. Clear yellow, big white fizzy head, lots of floaties. Citrus and resin hops in the aroma along with caramel malts. Bitey hops up front, plenty of caramel malts follow. Body a touch thin. OK beer.

12oz can. No date.

Pours a light bronze or Iím not sure how to describe the color. Holy smokes, look at the floaties. Looks like chunks of coconut in there. Has a very nice, thick white head. Long lasting head, so, pretty good retention and good lacing. Excellent way to start!!

Aroma is citrus, toasted malts, a little juniper. Aroma is not so bold.

Taste is not too bitter, well balanced. Citrusy, fresh tropical fruit, but itís not super flavorful.

Mouthfeel is medium. Pretty dry, and a little oily. Very drinkable. No alcohol taste. Not as bitter as you would think. Itís somewhat creamy and smooth, that must be the wheat. Iíd almost call this a session IPA.

Overall, this is pretty good. Itís hard to rate a beer like this, because itís a little out of the norm. I think itís tasty. I would buy it again, I might recommend it, because it is a little different. I donít think different is bad, I like different, but most people are not that way.

Appearance: pours with a large beige head that has a thick density, the beer is a hazy average to slightly light gold color, some very large white particles are floating in it Aroma: strong dank, citrus, pine, smells very good Taste: has a sort of faint orange syrup malt backbone, mild bitterness on top of the malt, hints of alcohol Palate: average carbonation, medium mouthfeel, bitter orange aftertaste Overall: not a bad beer, smells amazing if not complex, I just donít like the orange aftertaste and syrup backbone, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can at the hotel in NOLA - picked up at Steinís. Pours clear gold with a frothy-creamy white head. The aroma holds citrusy hops, some pale grains, orange rind. Medium sweet flavour with mellow piney bitterness, more rindy citrus, grainy pale malts. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with a little pine resin, orange rind, faint grass, lightly toasted grains, hay, pale bread. An OK IPA overall.
