2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 BlackHaddock (2350) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2012
Drank at the 2007 Zythos fest.
Ruby, port red colour with a biege foaming head.
Sweet caramel, burnt malts, some yeast esters as well.
The taste was a let down, a weak blend of yeast and off fruits and sweetness throughout.
The watery aftertaste ruined the beer for me, some hop flavours tried to come out, but almost failed.
A big let down for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - APR 30, 2012
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, reddish brown colour with a beige-brown massive foamy head. Slightly vinous grape- and berry-fruity aroma with mildly toasted and slightly leathery malty notes, accompanied by a touch of chocolate. Moderately sweet flavour with a rounded level of bitterness, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Delicately toasted malty taste with notes of chocolate, caramel and a mildly fruity blend; sweet-bitter malt-accented, slightly fruity finish, again with notes of chocolate. Not a taste-bomb but a very balanced Dubbel. Recommended. 03.IV.12

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Swaroga (788) - Brussels, BELGIUM - DEC 20, 2011
33cl bottle. Brown with medium tanned head. Nose : Strong fruit aromas : apples, cherry, pear and orange. Caramel and roasted malts. Some yeast notes. Sip : Oily with strong carbonation. Sweet and sour start surrounded by fruits with little cokacola like taste inserts. Yeah , it tastes like a mix of cokacola with rhum and some fruit soda. Overall : at least something different in dubbel family. I enjoy it.
