An unclear brown beer with a disappearing head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of berries especially black currant, but also raisins. The flavor is of prunes and raisins on a slightly sour background.

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours hazy brown with a collapsing tan head. Solid spiced aroma. Flavour is smooth caramel malt, light spice note nicely mixing in. Light warming finish with a smooth caramel malt blend. Medium sweet. Good balance.

Bottled. Dark brown, almost opaque colour, mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is peas, caramel and spices. Flavour contains peas, caramel and cooked vegetables. Quite fullbodied, but sadly not very pleasant as to the aroma and flavour.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2005 Bottled. Dark ruby. Roasty and lightly almondy. Clean mouthfeel. There’s notes of licorice and sugar, but the flavour is surprisingly neutral. Salty finish.

Brown with off white head. Sweet malty nutty & earhty. Medium bodied. Some sweet caramel/dark fruits - raisin. ABV is not noticeable. Long lasting end. Pleasant!

Bottle. Malty, slightly hoppy aroma. Very dark brown colour. Big, creamy, stable, light brown head. Not very powerful flavour, but malty and slightly sweet. Burnt and hop aromatic aftertaste. Nice, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a nice, very drinkable dubbel.

Clean dark amber color; huge, rocky, persistent, creamy head; fine perlage. Aroma of malt, lovely hop flowers, tobacco. Malty taste, with a lot of caramel, quite sweet in the late stage; ends with some sweetness and a surprising aromatic hopping. Pure; excellent.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, nuts, fruits, yeast malt and hops.
