Witkap Pater Dubbel (alc. 7% vol.) is a dark abbey beer with cream foam head, a full flavour and hints of caramel. Remarkably dark beer that is particularly well associate with Belgian chocolate desserts.

Flaša. Tmavo hnedé farba, krémová bublinková pena. Divná vôňa, bylinková, jemne karamelová a jemne kyselkavá. V chuti na zaciatku sladovosť, jemne karamel, kvetinové tóny a toršku kyslasltá dochuť. Telo stredne plné, celkom nasýtené.

Poured out of a 11.2oz bottle. Pours dark with a frothy head. The taste is very good and deliciously Belgian. The mouth feel is a little light and not exactly what I would expect from a Belgian dubbel. Overall a great dubbel that is very refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33cl @ De Dulle Griet, Gent. Pours a large off-white head. Dark brown appearance, hazy. Yeasty, malty aroma, hints of spices, maize, dark fruits, dark chocolate. More yeasty taste, more chocolate and also burned sugar, melon, more dark fruits, nougat (!), and something else I can’t place. Very smooth taste, nice. I think this beer is best on a cold winter’s evening. Sweet fruity aftertaste, again chocolate. Oily palate, full body.

Bottle from Bruges. Pours a hazy chestnut colour with a cream head. An interesting beer that isn’t quite what I’d expect from a dubbel. Notes of caramel and banana. Pleasant but thin.

Dark brown with medium off-white head. Very strange herbal sweetrness, some caramel, very flowery, like laundry detergent. Later some light watery chocolate. Medium sweet, medium bodied. Strange stuff, watery, don’t like it much.

smells of chocolate and cherries, pours very dark but up against the light is a deep golden red, thick stable head, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, tastes of nothing really is quite odd, you might as well just have water to be honest. ive had worse but its a bit perplexing. bottle from beers of europe
