Hazy yellow colored beer, pretty standard. Smell some spices or herbs, don’t like it anyway. Taste isn’t much better, carbo and body ok.

If I didn’t know better I would have thought this looked like the Saison Dupont before it or like Hoegaarden. A little hazy, golden straw colour with a bright white head that leaves a good lace. But the smell is a leap away from both. There’s almost an antiseptic sting of medicine with fermenting lemons and aloe vera. It’s fresh... and I just can’t put my finger on what that smell is. God how annoying. Lemon scented toilet cleaner? (and I’m not trying to be funny)
It’s got a thinner body than I was expecting and has fresh citrus and tart dessert acidity. Not incredibly satisfying, more a prelude to something else either in the range or something more full bodied to go with the next course at a degustation dinner.

Had a bottle called Witkap Pater Stimulo. Looked it up and found out that it’s an alias for this beer. Poured out, hazy yellow orange with a nice head that didn’t last too long. Aroma has cheesy yeast, lemongrass and wheat. Flavour is superyeasty, with bitter saltiness to it what I really like. Best compared, but not similar, to Orval in my humble opinion.
