Witkap Pater Tripel

A nice bitter hop and acidic citrus in the flavor. Moderate alcohol percentage for a trippel. Nice light golden transparant color. Quite a revelation for a tripel. Very drinkable

Dark amber color. Aroma is of malts, dried fruit, and raisins. Taste is of malts, caramel, and raisins. Has a smooth caramel aftertaste.

Pours a cloudy apricot orange with a medium white head that recedes slowly. Aroma is definitely fruity and much hoppier than expected. Grapefruity/citrusy aroma. Bitter hops and acidic citrus again in the flavor; very IPA-ish for a tripel. Typical Belgian creaminess/yeastiness isn’t apparent here. Spritzy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Different for a tripel, but nice. Very easy to like this one... Overall, very good.

Huge head on a golden poor with a fine smell. Sturdy bitter in balance with pronounced alcohol ande excellent mouth feel makes up for this fine tripel.

Sampled at Famous Liquors Fall /Oktoberfest Tasting in Lombard,IL.. Poured to a plastic sampler a hazy, deep gold with a white bubbly foam to the head and web-like lacing. The aroma was yeast, spice, and some perfumy citrus. The flavor added soft malt, brown sugar sweetness, slight alcohol, and light tartness. The finish was lightly bitter/dry. An average but decent Tripel.

A clear golden colored beer, with a thick white foamy head. The aroma of fruity fres malts. Strong orange/citrus. The taste of malts, grain and fruits like citrus with some spicey tones and bitterness. The aftertaste is bittersweet.

Pale hazy yellow with a large lasting white head, aroma is citrus and faint spice, similar orangey hoppy aroma - nice but far from the best Tripel.

Bottle. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is gently spiced, and the flvaour is mildly warming and spiced. Overall a nice but average tripel.
