COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What? What started out as a basic porter recipe evolved by adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that, using a wide variety of malts not typically seen in a porter. This includes various types of rye and a dash of smoked malt. The resultóa roasty, spicy, chocolaty glass of goodness. We just threw in the Kitchen Sink moniker for good measure. Why? The darker roasted malts lend some coffee aromas and chocolate flavors. The rye adds some unique spicy and fruity notes throughout the tasting experience. The smoked malt adds just enough of its character to bridge everything togetherónot dominate the structure as in a ďsmokedĒ beer. This beer is also deceivingly dry and pairs with Middle Eastern food particularly well.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2011 Tap at the brewery - dark ruby beer - very hefty, more along the lines of a stout - despite having so many ingredients, everything comes together well - the bitterness of the dark malt works well with moderate notes of spicy rye and woody hops - the dash of smoked malt adds an earthiness and a slight autumnal, campfire kind of quality - there is a subtle chocolate sweetness - toasty rye finish, with lingering bitterness - very tasty.

Light and toasty porter, with little noticeable on the nose (but that's not unexpected for a porter. Very nice mahogany color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black with a creamy head. Smokey aroma with some malt. Tastes just like it smells with a sweet malt front and a tiny smokey finish.

On tap at Witís End. Color is black with a nice brown head. Aroma of deeply roasted malt and a faint hop note in back. It has a bolder medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor comes in with sweet roasted malt, this is backed by mellow hops and bitterness. In the after taste the sweetness fades letting the bitterness hang on the end. Overall this is just a great brew, very tasty.

Tap at Witís End. Clear black with a small light khaki head. Interesting aroma of some chocolate covered sausage with perhaps some bitter herbal hoppiness. Flavor is kinda the same on a medium/full body. Smokey chocolate notes mix with something that reminds me of artisan sausage, finishing on a mild herbal bitterness. Perhaps a bit too hoppy and not sweet enough for my liking.

Tap at the brewery. Poured a clear brown with a red tint and a frothy tan head. Aroma is roasty, nutty, toffee, and light cocoa. Taste is very nutty, roasty, toffee, and chocolate with a lingering bittersweet finish. Light body with soft carbonation. Ok.
