COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also marketed as Rosarda in the UK
A blend of regular Wittekerke, the best Belgian wheat beer, known for its fruity aroma and taste, together with 10% of the purest Raspberry fruit, and a dash of the Petrus Aged Pale ale, the original mother beer that is aged in oak for up to 3 years. This combination is made in heaven, beer-heaven at the Bavik brewery in Belgium.

Bottle: Poured a clear light pinkish color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and average lacing. Aroma of raspberry syrup with light tart notes. Taste is quite sweet though not overly with some syrupy raspberries and a very faint tart finish. Not as bad as expected or as bad as other Belgian fruit beers but not the greatest drink ever.

For a fruit beer this was pretty good. Very fruity in the aroma and taste, very raspberry. Pink colour with a pinkish white head. Enjoyed.

Ok, the beer I had was a very out of date can with an expiration date of 7/11/06. The aroma was sour rasberry. The flavor was tart sour rasberry, with not much sweetness to go with it. I think the three years helped this beer, as it almost tasted like a dry lambic, lol. Not bad but not great.

250 ml bottle from LCBO (how dainty!), served cold in a tulip glass. JN11/09.

App.: Pink-amber, light pinkish head. Aroma: Fresh, tart raspberries, some raspberry jam, a little green raspberry bush. Palate: Medium body, fairly full effervescence, tingly and slightly astringent. Flav.: Extremely sweet and fruity, raspberry and cherry candy, very light funk; very sweet with some tartness.

Candy beer.

250ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy pink to match the lable, which is VERY feminine. Smells nice, but is sickeningly sweet, with a nasty cough syrup like finish. Tried to pawn it off on my wife, but she couldn’t drink it either. Talk about usless calories!

25cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy pink/orange with very thin pinky white head. Lots of raspberry on aroma. Hey its a slightly sweet, slightly belgian wit, fruity beer. Not the worst thing in the world, but it could be a lot better and way too sweet too. OK, but a tad too sweet.

Bottle. Hazy pink with a thin foamy white head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is fruity with fresh raspberries, pink grapefruit and sugar. Flavor is very sweet with raspberries, sugar, aspartame, and a touch of lemon. Medium body. Too sweet, but still better than expected.

250ml bottle: Poured a cloudy pink-gold with a rose cap. Promising aroma: some biscuit, spice and fruit and earthy tones. Flavor was a letdown. Fruit and sweetness predominate and obliterate any other flavours. The sweetness seems synthetic as well. I had look forward to this one as I like Wittekerke witbier and thought this was a sort of wit cocktail with fruit and Petrus red...but it is simply far too sweet to define any complexity at all.
