Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 4, 2011
Test vom 23.2.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,8,10,8,8,9 - 9,20

Draught at the Danish Beerfestival 2011. Ruby/pink colour. Fresh strawberry aroma. To sweet with week acidity.

Sample from a bottle at St. Louis Microfest 2011. This was another oddity that struck my curiosity on a slow night. Pours a goofy-looking pinkish-brown color with a tinted head and some visible carbonation. Aroma is surprisingly not terrible, just a lot of sweet raspberry candy; the downside is I couldn’t get this smell out of my glass very easily after that. Flavor is basically the same, sweet raspberry candy, with some wheat and sugar. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, fruity, sticky mouthfeel and medium-high carbonation. Not the best fruit beer.

33cl bottle. It pours a slightly cloudy orangey brown, some bubbles and a nice generous lacy head. The nose is of creamy raspberries. The taste is of more raspberries and cream. The palate isn’t bad - medium-bodied with a creamy texture and a nice zingy acidic finish. Overall, not a world-beater but very pleasant.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a white wine glass. Pours a hazy peach with off-white head. Good lacing and light body. Taste is light raspberry. Disapointing.

Murky peach with a large off-white quickly fading crown that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of prickly raspberries, malt, dough perhaps a touch of wheat and yeast. Taste is liquid jolly rancher, raspberry flavored. A bit too sweet more my liking and a mild off-flavor on the finish.

Bottle from Vinens Verden. Huge head with good duration. Color is pink. Aroma and taste are raspberries, cherries, yeast and malt. Nice and refreshing.
