33 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK. Hazy pink gold colour, strawberry and wheat aroma. Less cough syrupy than many I’ve tasted. Not too sweet, jammy flavour, with a bright finish with an aspartame-like undetone.

Bottle from The Green Man, Stamford, Lincolnshire. Hazy pink with a large white head. Sweet, jammy fruit aroma, close to being sickly. The very faintest traces of sourness and dryness in the taste, but it’s mainly artificial, sweet raspberry. Enjoyed it more than I should have. But only slightly more.

Aroma of raspberry, oak, and white sugar. Appearance is light pink with white head. Flavor matches the nose, not as sweet as the nose suggests. Palate is bubbly.

Bottle at the Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Pink beer, presented in an attractive frosted glass. Very sweet, very fruity beer. Which fruit? Not sure. It’s not apparent. Pleasant, but not nearly beery enough.

Funny that the commercial description doesn’t mention the artificial sweetener or flavors that the slim .33l can calls out. Starts out with an artificial fruity metallic nose, kind of wine coolerish. Settled down to a more jammy nose, still smells artificial. Pink tinted yellow gold, active carbonation, small fizzy head. Has a chemical note, dry wheat with an eye dropper full of lab created flavors. I wouldn’t be so picky if these flavors were in a candy. But I guess with beer, this seems to be created for a market that doesn’t like beer and so it lacks the nuances that draw me to the craft. The raspberry notes are never intense and there’s a gentle easy mouthfeel, though a little cloying in the finish.
