3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Nice looking pour, a cloudy dark straw body with a tall creamy head and slippery gobs of lace. The aroma is light, some breadiness, some coriander, stone fruit, and a splash of mineral water. It is quietly carbonated and feels soft in the mouth. The flavor likewise is bready and has a perfumey spiciness... tasty. It finishes fairly dry and leaves a lemony taste in the corners of the mouth. Pretty decent brew.

750ml bottle: Aroma has got the coriander and orange tinge to it. Appearance is what it should be a cloudy orange with a thick white head that lingers. Taste is rather nice with the alcohol nicely hidden. Palate is somewhat dry with a citrus after taste. Overall, short review. And I liked it. Cheers!

Sampled at an esbls tasting. I brought this one. Very hazy orange gold with a decent even layer of white foam. The nose is apples and yeast with light fruit. Not a lot of flavor. Wheat, and apples are prominent. Alcohil is tasted but is not over bearing and bitterness is mild. Carbonation is significant. This needs more going on.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ughsmash (6723) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 4, 2012
750mL bottle. Poured cloudy, medium orangey-golden with a dense white head. The aroma picked up sweeter oranges and wheaty notes with orange zest, white pepper, and cloves around.. soft and well-balanced. The flavor found sweet oranges, bready malts, and a touch of honey at the core.. cloves, coriander, and tart wheat around.. fairly sugary on the back-end and finish. Light-medium bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. nice brew, but a bit too sweet.

a double wit? is there such a thing? it definitely comes off more alcholish and warm that i was expecting, but the flavors were rather one dimensional and thin, with some yeasty darker sugars and a bit of spice in the background. interesting, but i think i will stick with standard wits.
