12oz can poured into a Wittekerke glass. Pours a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL hazy yellow with a perfect, fluffy white head. Nose is soap, soap, and more lemon soap degreaser. Body follows suit, lemon soap. Palate is very refreshing and overall very tasty. I am very conflicted about this beer, it is not complex in any shape way or form but what it does have is VERY tasty. No funky aftertaste or weird yeasty flavors to speak of. Very, very drinkable.

12oz can poured to hoegaarten tumbler. garage sale yeast. smells like it too. WAY too cloudy. makes me wonder if a big corporate entity wanted to make a beer that was naturally cloudy, how many cheap options they would have to make a beer artificially cloudy. nose is weak, next to zero yeast and just a bit of lemon. a taste is of strong lemon and little else.body is ultra thin and very lightly carbonated. i can deal with carbonation level but a wit should be slightly substantial due to the solids floating around in here. maybe the monosodium gluteamate they used instead of yeast to make it cloudy doesnt provide a real body. hoegaarten is better then this, and more available and about the same price. havent had many bluemoods but i dare say that might be even better, or at least similar.

Date: 08/30/08, 12 oz. can provided by and shared with DoBoy.

Aroma - Lemon and honey notes with hints of spice

Appearance - Slightly hazy yellow pour, medium white head

Flavor - Starts off lightly sweet, a crisp tartness follows

Palate - Light, effervescent, dry finish and a clean palate

Overall - Not bad for a summer refresher. Flavors are subdued.

11.2 oz can shared by doboy, along with DrBayern and Steve. Pours a hazy, straw color. Aroma of yeasty lemons and cloves. Light flavour of the same, clean and refreshing beer! Not very complex, however extremely tastey!

My Wittekerke poured a bleached frothy white into my hefeweizen glass with a thick, soft, and tightly packed head almost running over. In the end though, she balanced perfectly and held it together for at least a minute or two before settling into a thin blanket on top. Her color relaxes into a cloudy yellow orange with a bleached white hue throughout. Green bananas, cloves, and coriander on the nose with a hint of hardboiled egg. A bit of citrus notes are very faint in the background. A very light, soft and effervescent body. The mild citrus notes I detected come at me in an almost soda-pop effervescence which makes me think of sprite or 7up. The citrus zest is up front, followed quickly by a mellowing round of smooth banana notes and texture with clove and coriander spice backing it up. A very intriguing interpretation of the Belgian Wit beer style. A lingering sour and banana cream finish.
Definitely different than any Wit beer I have tried so far. Not my most favorite interpretation, but I didn’t dislike the Wittekerke either. A good beginner Belgian Wit I think, for the Blue Moon and Belgian Wit beer curious newbie crowd. A pleasant effervescence with just enough body and profile to show them what Belgian Wits can do without scaring them away.
