33 cl can. Nice egg-white and yolk combo in my glass, half-finger white head over cloudy yellow body. Smell at first is a little sour, like this may have gotten too warm in transit. But it settles to a light, lemony wheat beer note. Taste is spritzy, with lemon zest and subdued notes of coriander. More soft spiciness from wheat malt, lightened by Belgian pils. Starts out slowly, has a nice middle, but gets sour again at the finish. But a nice summer beer.

Pours a hazey light golden colour, with a medium sized head. A nice lemony flavor with plenty of wheat and a very pleasent mouthfeel. this was a wicked tastey beer! :)

Can pours very pale straw color with a small head and nice lace. The aroma is yeasty, spicy, not bad. The flavor is banana clove, yeast, and some lingering spice. The palate suites well. Overall, a decent offering.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2008 Good wit. Someone asked if I was drinking lemonade when they saw it in my glass. Good spicy coriander aroma with some of the yeast characteristics of good wits, bubblegum/banana. Tasty beer. Went down smooth, nothing terribly funky about it, but nothing mind blowing either.

33cl can from trader joe’s. Spot-on cloudy pale honey color with a creamy white head. Bublegum, banana, orange, and spicy aroma is pretty nice. The flavor isn’t quite as good, with sweet tang, some yoghurt and slight spice in a somewhat watery finish. The body is overly creamy, which brings down the refreshment factor a little. Pretty drinkable, smells good, but the flavor and mouthfeel bring it down a little for me.

Draught @ the Biergarden, Asheville NC Appearance: What can I say? Yellow. Brightly so, like a Hoegaarden on steroids. Like perhaps the beer includes carotenoids. Aroma: At first blush, coriander, with a sweet grain-maltiness. At second blush, more of the same, with a nice shallow depth. Taste: OK. Classic wit, nothing spectacular, but nothing off either. Palate/Mouthfeel: A bit on the sticky side but amply refreshing. Overall: Not my favorite witbier, but it will definitely suit the bill if you’re looking for a wit to drink and it happens to be what they have. All in all, somewhat plain. Interesting that the "kerke" in question on their label/tap handle is a plain white clapboard frame thing, because that’s the overall effect of the beverage: plain, unassuming, mainline-protestant-style witbier. No stone towers or fancy stained glass with this one.

Can->tumbler: Pours a large, white, rocky head that’s diminishing atop a murky, lightly yellow colored body. Aroma of citrus, light yeast, and grape. The body is light, the texture thin, and soft carbonation with an astringent finish. The flavor’s duration is long. Has a clean taste w/ little-to-no aftertaste and an astringent finish; Not a bad beer, but doesn’t really stand out, either.
