phaleslu (428), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 21, 2009 Bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a gigantic white head. Aroma of bitter hops, floral notes, and citrus. Flavor is lemon citrus, hops, wheat. Medium body and almost creamy mouthfeel, bitter with a bit of a bite but smooth. Bitter finish. Reminds me of a German Pilsener somewhat in the flavor but I like this better than those. BroSpud (586), , Massachusetts, USA Aug 16, 2009 Updated: Aug 17, 2009Julio’s Belgian Beer fest. Sample. OK, so I grabbed the coaster for this one so it must have been ok. Yes, I think rememeber this. A white beer that was better than the typical. Unfortunately I do not like white beers a whole lot so the fact that I didn’t think this was too bad is noteworthy. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Aug 12, 2009 Can at Uber. Pours a murky dark white. Ugh. Looks like somebody left a specimen and they was bad wrong on the inside somewhere. Creamy white head that doesn’t stick around. Visible flecks of black coriander (or whatever) backstroking around in there. Man, this is a broken beer. Spicy sweetish potpourri-ish nose. Does not present itself as a refreshment. More like a dare. Creamy, fizzy body. Tastes like undercooked potpourri. What saves it from being awful is the fact that it’s pretty subdued. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA Aug 7, 2009 can. pours a hazy yellow with a big white head that quickly fades to leave a thin layer of film on top of the shit eating beer. Notes of banana, some clove, whatever. Some lemon as well. bread lemon flavor. creamcicle mouthfeel. Fuckin A unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 2, 2009 12oz can. Pours very cloudy, bright white color, thick foamy bright white head. Sweet wheat malt aroma. Hints of lemon and grass and earthy florals. Bready flavor. Lots of malt, very dry on the palate, finishes with a hint of lemon. Seems to be textbook authentic Witbier. MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Jul 16, 2009 Pouring a very cloudy light straw colour, this one featured a foamy white head. The aroma was evident at once, somewehat "grassy" even with my nose backed away from the glass. The taste was also a bit of the grassiness and a little bit tart, with the aftertaste being slightly sweet. Not too different from Hoegaarden. A nice, clean tasting beer. deyholla (508), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jul 11, 2009 Bottle at ABC beer tasting. Poured a very pale yellow and was quite cloudy with a white head. Basic aroma, consisted of fruit and flora notes. Flavor was light and fruity with a consistent slight undertone of bitterness. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jul 7, 2009 Appearance: Tremendously clear, damn near colorless body exhibiting only a faint pale yellow hue. Thin, white head.
Smell: Thin, puny aroma with just the mildest notes of barley, wheat, flowers, and lemons.
Taste: Slight touches of listless barley and wheat with a sweet, floral taste of honeysuckle. Small hint of grain. Lemony qualities and a minimal amount of spice character. Light bitterness. Sweetish back-and-forth of barren malts and tired lemon until the drying, weak finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A real snoozer. So filtered and meek, it’s downright wimpy. I’m all for light and refreshing, but, come on, let’s have some (any) flavor too!
