Good balance between malt and hops. Lovely hop profile. Flawless and rather pleasant.

Clear orange yellow beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: wort, grains, stable, light malts. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: some citrus first, herbal hops, bit sweet, little fruity. Aftertaste: some grassy bitter hops, little sweet, fruity touch, peaches. Not bad.

2011-04-10, draught at the brauhaus, 7-4-7-3-14=35
Hazy deep blond color; compact head. The aroma is quite malty, with some mild hops. The mouthfeel is smooth, the carbonation is a bit too low; the malt flavor is quite nice, but it tends to disappear in the final; correct bitterness, but overall a better hopping is missing.

2010-08-30, draught at the brauhaus, 8-4-7-3-15=37
Blond color, cloudy; creamy head. It has a wonderful aroma of noble hops, grassy but also a bit biscuity. Like the Dunkel and Weizen 8and unlike the filtered Pils) this one as well has a sweet side, quite rare in German beers; for once I would prefer a drier mouthfeel; there is some pleasant malt flavor, but not crispy as I was longing for; good bitterness level, less aromatic than the aroma was suggesting; the final is balanced, sweetish, a bit malty, and with sme hop aroma, but it would be better if it were more biting. Very good Helles, anyway.

Test vom 20.5.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 9,9,10,10,-,10 - 9,73

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy gold, large white head that settles slowly, good lacing. Aroma of white pepper, malt, lemon peel. Taste is citrus and malt, with a bit of bubblegum. Above average.

Had this as Woinemer Plob. The bottle looks good, as well as the beer in the glass. Starts mild, wonderful hoppy-grasy, flowery, not dry. Finish also a bit spicy-floury, still wonderful grasy. Very well balanced. Good beer!

Bügelverschlußflasche (nickname "plob"): Golden and hazy, stable small foamy layer; robust woody-hoppy nose with sweet (cara-)malt underneath; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, quite smooth; lingering bitter-sweet a.k.a. Tettnang(?) hoppy and caramalty finish. Well balanced, spicy Zwickel........

(draught at the brewpub as Helles, 33cl bottle as Plob at home) Hazy, golden colour with a short foamy white head. Sweet and yeasty malty aroma with notes of biscuits, grains and citric and herbal hops. Sweet flavour, rather slim bodied with a softly carbonated matured mouthfeel. Soft biscuity (cara-)malty and minimal grainy taste with yeasty notes and a mildly citrus-fruity touch, accompanied by delicate herbal and spicy accents. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter malt-accented finish with a discreet bitterness but a nice whiff of aroma hops. Extremely easy going and pleasant to drink. 07.XII.09

Draught at the brewpub as Helles. Good sweet aroma, slightly citric, but also flowery and nicely grainy. Hazy golden colour. Good stable white head. The flavour is nicely malty, a little grainy horse flavour, rustic. Not bad.

Swing-top bottle. Sour corn/barley malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange peel, green hay and barley malt flavor. Doesn’t smell too great but a nice different flavor for a Helles. Nice.
