2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at Paul’s saison tasting - weird take on a saison. arouma is nice and funky, but the taste just has little backing to it. This bottle could be old, but not enough sweetness to balance the astringency. some cidery notes. blech.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Found this "on sale" at the local bottle shop. Being a lover of saisons I couldn’t resist. This must be at least 3 years old, judging by the last couple of ratings entered. Lesson learned - do not try to age a saison. It actually poured a lovely amber, slightly cloudy with a majestic, tight head. The aroma was not offensive, but not necessarily saison like - oranges, lemon, toffee, caramel, oxidation. It’s medium bodied, The flavor was way off. Sharp, no yeast, caramel sweetness underneath, oxidation, metallic aftertaste. Drain Pour.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
As if this is surprising to anyone, Wolavers’ saison is just as bad as all their other beers. Doesn’t help that this is old, I guess. "Smells like death," I wrote. You’ll have to consult my more drunken self for details on that one. Muddy. Crumby. Chicken pot pie. Oregano.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
bomber thanks to Glouglouburp!! Pours a hazed bright light orange with a foamy soapy head some lace. Aroma is peach and stale malt aroma, fruity esters, with some pencil shavings, earth, leather and mineral with a light old cheesy hop character. Flavor is stale, light cheese, light metallic hints, doughy with a light sweet honey malt and almost an ashy vegetable character like the middle of Morbier cheese, some dough left over but mostly stale too, a bit oxidized, some dill and pepper spice, and a crackery oxidized malt finish with a light tartness and papery tacky and rough on the tongue.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Like a Belgian golden ale, just a lot more grassy and generates a more bubbly feeling in the stomach. Not easy to put down.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange copper body with a white head. Dusty floral notes, some light fruit esters, pine sap, with a spicy bread y spiciness. A lighter dried and juicy fruit character. Messy fruity citrus and bubblegum sweetness. Some pear notes. Eh this was a bit of a mess.
