Our winter seasonal brew, Alta Gracia Coffee Porter is made in cooperation with the Vermont Coffee Company using 100% certified fair trade, organic coffee from the Alta Gracia farm in the Dominican Republic. Alta Gracia Coffee Porter is an exceptionally smooth and flavorfully complex beer that is surprisingly true to the porter style. The hint of vanilla brings out the sweetness of the dark-roasted Dominican coffee.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee, roasted malt, and tar. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of coffee combined with medium notes of roasted malt and wood, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Tap at EarthMatters, NYC. Pretty solid coffee porter. Pours a dark black with a strong, off-white head. Nose is all coffee bean, roasty and a little malty. Flavor enhances the coffee experience. Almost bitter coffee intensity. Some light choclate notes. Medium in body with mild carbonation. Tasty.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours brown with a creamy tan head. Nice coffee aroma. Very. Med+ body. Flavor is coffee and chocolate. Maybe a touch of vanilla. There’s some burnt malt. Overall this is dry and bitter. Hop? Who knows? Finishes coffee, bitter and quite tasty.

Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted sweet malt and coffee aroma. Bottle. Pours clear black with dark brown highlights and a small, fizzy light tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is earthy and spicy coffee, spicy and herbal hops, roast and chocolate malt with raisin esters. Flavor is malt dominant, light hops and medium bitterness, dark fruity esters, earthy coffee and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
