Linus_Stick (1527), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2008 A nice and tasty brown ale. Nice roasted malt aroma. Pour was very dark brown with a 1 finger tan head. Taste was full and good. Very nutty with maple and roasted malt and a biitter roasted malt aftertaste. Nice carbonation and a lingering nuttiness. ScoWRee (218), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 27, 2008 Pours a nice amber color with a tan foamy head. Aroma of carmel malt. Taste is a little weak. Has a roasted malt flavor. Nice to try. GMCC2181 (367), Bear, Delaware, USA Aug 26, 2008 Bottle: Amber in color, decent head. Aroma of spicy dried fruit. Taste is hint cherry and sweet malt. Texture is average along with the carbonation. Pretty enjoyable beer. It has a sweet barleywine taste. I am not picking up any brown ale characteristics, but still good. Boutip (1769), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Aug 20, 2008 Bottle: Poured a light copper color ale with a nice of-white foamy head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma of deep caramel malt is surprising and quite enjoyable. Taste is a mix between some deep caramel malt with some light toffee notes and no discernable hops presence. I wasn’t expecting much for this one but I was quite surprise – the grain bill was perfect and quite dominant or more so then most beer form this sometime boring style. Ron (739), Rochester, New York, USA Aug 16, 2008 2008 Flour City Brewfest. Nutty aroma. Very dark copper color, not exactly brown. Thick creamy head. Nicely balanced chocolate and hops. Weak finish.
