Deep amber ale with rich and smooth flavor. Malty undertones of vanilla and caramel are kept in check with the addition of magnum, golding and fuggles hops.

Pours a decent light brown with medium head. Taste is well balanced and nice--dominated by chocolate and some roasted malt, with light caramel flavors and a decent sweetness.

The organic was the hook. The beer turns out to be pretty good, but far from the brown ale I was expecting. Slightly watery, but nice and crisp.

Hoppy aroma with a bit of malt. Red-brown color with small head that laces. Smooth carb with medium body. A bit nutty, slightly sweet start. Crisp, bitter finish and nutty after. Could be a bit more malty but very good.

A murky, cloudy brown with little actual nut flavor. Thick chocolate malt is present, and it’s a bit bitter, also a bit sweet. Great aroma. This one’s for sipping, not chugging. There’s a lot going on in this beer.

A good brew, what can i say, the organic talk on the label made it up to be a great brew, but it clocks in at somewhere between half past good and quarter to great.

I agree brown ale it is not. I found a sweet begining and somewhat thin body.

Moderately clear light orange? Thin tiny bubbled white head. Light carbonation. Lightly toasted and sweet malt aroma with some earthy/floral hops in the mix. Hoppy bite on the first sip, pungent and fresh. Light malt sweetness and very mild toasted aspects. Fresh cut grass flavor. Medium body, nicely balanced. Finishes fruity and crisp? and hoppy? This is a brown ale? I had to check the bottle to make sure I had the right one. A good beer, but a brown ale it ain’t, organic or not.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2004 Bottle says 01/09/02 Batch 1095 drank on 2/2/2: Dark amber color with a good sized off-white head. A unique brown ale with a spicy taste. Excellent malty taste that dominates this beer.

Very sociable and easy drinking broon ale that just does more of its fair share on the palate. Chocolate coffee flavors, well roasted with very brief hop finish.
