mansquito (595), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Apr 21, 2008 Coppery color, it don’t look like no brown ale now way no how. Off-white head. Weird dry smell. Interesting, though not necessarily good taste. It kind of turned me off. Maybe it was the hint of cherry and black currant. Strange. I don’t think I like it.
EithCubes (1770), Indiana, USA Jul 30, 2008 Bottle. Dusty dry nose, earthy toffee and nuts with light brown sugar. Wood and light hop funk. Deep amber with a short-lived tan head. Watery body is lightly dry, lightly sweet, lightly bitter, earthy malt with a strong vein of nuttiness. Very light touches of caramel and dark chocolate, with a classic Hallertauer profile. Yum! Lastingly crisp and satisfying, a pleasant little surprise. Great for style. Haslinger (502), Syracuse, New York, USA Jul 13, 2008 Sampled at Empire State Brew fest in Syracuse. Lots of malt present in the aroma and initial mouthfeel. The malt sticks around and is present the entire way through. Good beer would buy again Tessic (365), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2008 This brown ale poured a deep copper colour with a short lived foamy off white head. to the nose there are scents of brown sugar, figs, cream and caramel. First sip was a bit weak with a strong iced tea flavour. A little hop with asweet finish. Palate is iced tea and hopps with a lingering bitterness. sebletitje (187), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 6, 2008 On tap. Pour amber/nutty. Aroma is roasted, nutty malt with notes of coffee.
Enjoyed it quite a bit. DuffMan (1891), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 5, 2008 Bright coppery orange-brown. Aroma of rich roasted nuts, toffee malt. Generously malty palate, light roast, quite nutty with a very subtle fruit note. Very nice.
