4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2003 Bottle: Light cloudy orange color with a large foamy head, that quickly gets thin. Bready citrus aroma, almost biscuity. Full creamy mouthfeel, rich crisp ending. Although very mild in bitterness compared to some American IPAs, this beer really captures and mixes the British and American styles.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Clear light peach with a thin foamy white head. Light carbonation. Sour fruit aroma with some light wet cardboard and citric hops. Ugh! Fruit juice mixed with sour Vitamin C tablets and some soapy notes. Bitter asparagus aftertaste. My god I hope this an old/bad six pack. Born on 11/30/01. Died on 3/29/02.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nowhere near as good as their Pale. Oddly bland, yet nevertheless drinkable. And, just as a public service announcement, let me say that having a couple beers after a good drop of Slivovitz will give you a really bad headache, without getting you drunk at all. Slivovitz alone is great; beer alone can be transcendent; together, no.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
One dimensional bitterness -- very flat tasting, even when it warmed up to room temperature, the hop aroma and flavors still stayed flat and uninteresting. Vaguely pleasant, just not very exciting.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
Big flavor and alcohol sensation at first, but then it was like it became watery. Relatively clean & easy to quaff, though a little rough-edged in the finish. Hop presence is a little below par... ok, well below par; not enough hop bitterness, flavor, or aroma. And my other complaint is that I found it a little gloppy and cloying. I hear their Pale Ale is much better.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
An Old World IPA example with dampened spicy hops and lack of clean bite typical of the West Coast examples.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A less than typical IPA. Not enogh hops or malt. Their pale ale, in my opinion, is way better.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Contract brewed by Otter Creek, this beer has a distinctive Ottter Creek flavour. Piney/earthy hop aromas. Good assertive bittering, but little balance. Not a bad beer, just not too exciting.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2003 I had to quickly re-rate this beer to all of nothing because It's now aparently shipped 2500 miles to me which is not a good thing for a beer advertizing ECOBAGS(TM) and *ONLY* ECOBAGS(TM) on their website. I've got a lot of great hops, water and beers within a few miles. No need to support the ECOBREW 3 time zones away!
