Lighter body than I anticipated. Coated the palate nicely. Smooth. Would recommend to anyone shy about drinking stouts

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is my gold-standard oatmeal stout. Finally had on on tap at Columbia Gorge Hotel. Ninkasi Oatis comes close, but this one really satisfies all aspects of stouthood. Check out the Organic Beer Festival at Overlook Park this summer - Wolaver is always there and always hits it out of the park, especially on a nitro tap!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2013 Small head, dominating coffee scent. A little liquory on the finish. Malty and sweet on the tongue, not in a bad way. Would drink again, and since Wolaver’s is in every supermarket and liquor store in New Hampshire, I’m sure I will at some point.

Draught. This is thin, not as roasty as I would like, and generally uninspiring.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from TWM Sterling - pours dark brown, tan head. Aroma coffee, toasted malt, smoke. Taste is sweet, palate starts somewhat creamy, but thins as it warms. Overall, meh.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Dark brown colour, small spongy dark amber head, coffee bean aroma, creamy coffee taste, average carbonation, nice long finish. A very remarkable beer indeed!

Bottle flack beer with a small beige head. Coffee, tar, licorice aroma. Similar flavour. Really nice coffee taste :-)

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a solid dark brown with a faint garnet brown highlight when held to light. A smallish off white head froths then quickly recedes leaving spotty lace on the way down. The aroma from this beer is quite intoxicating. Toasty and roasty grains with hints of caramel and chocolate balanced by a bit of earth and a hint of dark fruit. The flavor is roasty and chocolate with bits of bread, caramel, and toffee. There’s a light fruity sweetness with enough dry roastiness to provide great balance. Light earthy hop flavor with little to no apparent hop bitterness. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a dry grainy roasty mouthfeel. This beer smells incredible and tastes pretty good too.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pours dark brown/black with thin tan head, light lacing. Aroma is light roast coffee, very sweet sugary malt, burnt sugary popcorn, nuts, slight roasted note. Taste again leads with the slightly off-putting saccharine sweetness, but thankfully gives way to some tasty roasted malt character, dark chocolate, slight smokiness. All very light going, too sweet for my palate to be honest. Not great.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pretty decent. Smells of a lot of coffee with thick nutty notes. Pours black and syrupy without any head or lacing. Taste has some sweetness, some sourness. Medium to low carbonation. Bottle from Village Beer Merchant.
