Brewed with over 200 pounds of organic rolled oats in each batch, this smooth-as-silk stout is brimming with darkly roasted malts and rich notes of chocolate and coffee. A mocha-topped, black-as-night body gives way to a surprisingly smooth, full-bodied experience in this unfiltered offering.

Dark brown with tan head. Decent oatmeal stout, though it doesn't compare to Sam Smith's -- roasted malts, chocolate and oatmeal.

Dark appearance with a moderate off white head. Aroma is chocolate and oatmeal. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, and oatmeal. Bittersweet aftertaste. After this malthead paradise of an evening I'm dying for an IPA :)

Deep radiant brown when held up to light. Chocolate/bitter coffee aroma. Medium bodied. Flat, bitter flavour at first, followed by coffee, and sweet chocolate finish. Average oatmeal stout.

I am rating the Otter Creek version, which I understand came out a few months ago. All coffee here in a light black pour. Defineatly a coffee lovers delight here. I'd like to try this over some Haagen Daaz Vanilla. These guys also make a Roasted Garlic Mustard and a nice Beer Mustard worth trying.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2004 Bottled on 11/12/03, batch# 1452... Poured dark brown, red hue and a large tan head and nice lacing. Roasted coffee aroma. Roasted coffee taste, weak mouthfeel for a stout. I wish this was heartier, but it's really not all that bad.

Ok bought in the 12 oz brown bottle at ocal health food store.."Bottled on 11/03/03,Batch# 1447. Absolutly fantastic looking oatmeal stout to look at ..dark brown with garnet accents when held to the light..nice half inch sized creamy tan head..shrinks but never quite dissapears. This is one of the better smell oatmeals I have had....lovelly chocolate malts..toasted oats fresh, nice stuff. Nice taste very smooth and creamy chocolate to start..then I get a thick oat tase..like Scottish porridge, for a sec..then its on to a long lasting but pleasant bitterness.. Very nice and creamy on the tongue..well made..not thin. A very nice example of an oatmeal stout..and so very drinkable.

deep brown, thinnish tan head. aroma is more roasty than anything, but there is a milk stout quality to the nose. not a lot of chocolate in the aroma. it's sweet, but there is a lingering bitterness throughout the flavor profile. there isnt a lot of flavor, and is fairly thin.

What a nice surprise on draft. A little wattery when served too cold, but upon warming a nice level porter. Plenty of coffee and malty notes. Then comes the chocolate. Not sure the "organic" influence, but a darn good porter. Looks like a porter. Tastes are all there as well, including a nutty character which blends in well with the overt chocolate/coffee.
