COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with over 200 pounds of organic rolled oats in each batch, this smooth-as-silk stout is brimming with darkly roasted malts and rich notes of chocolate and coffee. A mocha-topped, black-as-night body gives way to a surprisingly smooth, full-bodied experience in this unfiltered offering.

It"s like Mole. Nice Chocolate nose - milk chocolate. Light coffe and chocolate taste. Weak nose but still a yummie one.

Bottled. Some ruby shines through, not totally opaque, bit thinnish, little head – taupe. Oatmeal w/cinnamon, sugar and ..burnt toast? Nose. Flavor rather neutral, not particularly sweet or robust. Really quite average overall, bit too sharp & carbonated on the finish.

Deep brown, strong aroma of oats with a little scotch and espresso. Smooth mouthfeel, with sweet scotch and coffee dominating. Quite good.

Bottle - Batch #1452. Poured with barely any head and of course, left no lacing. Extremely dark ruby color, this beer has a coffee nose and taste with a long lasting bitterness. It was a pretty good beer! Although I'm not a health fanatic, I do like the fact that this beer is organic. You never know what stuff they add and spray on the ingredients. Not the best Oatmeal stout I've had, but it is pretty good and I would try it again.

Batch #1452 Bottled 12/11/03: Dark ruby brown/black. Tan head. Burnt grain, coffee nose. Burnt toast, coffee/espresso, dark chocolate, velvety smooth, yet slightly thin body. Finishing with a lingering coffee like bitterness. Not too shabby!

Dark brown to black in color, roasted coffee, grainy nose. Taste is somewhat sweet with coffee-espresso notes. Body is just a little thin. Finish is on the dry side.

Nearly black, with hints of brown, medium tan head, nice rings of lacing. First - the body of this brew was smooooth and creamy, not necessarily thick though. Flavors are sweet, nutty, chocolate, some sweet fruit and lightly roasted coffee. Sometimes this style has some sourness - not this one.

Batch #1447: Very dark brown with a medium tan head. Roast and coffee aroma. Stron g roast and coffee flavor. Burnt finish.

Well, you can only expect so much from an organic beer. This had the color and body down right, but came off a little too bitter and grainy. Nice use of roasted malt. Some like this type of stout, not me.

12-November-2003: Batch #1452:
95% opaque black body with a medium-sized light brown head. Aroma of oats (no surprise huh?), bread, coffee and a bit of chocolate. Medium-bodied; Sweet and bitter initial taste, all in one. Not much else is picked up in the taste, some smokey tones and some astringency. Aftertaste shows strong signs of bitterness and a slight cherry flavour. Dry & alcoholic finish...but not too bad. Overall, about what I had expected from this beer-as I knew it was coming out soon! I bought this twelve ounce bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 04-December-2003.
