Well balanced. Decent flavor. Nice bitterness. Not a bad beer. Enjoyable. TAR (2097), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 14, 2001 My favorite beer by this fine brewery. Very hoppy and snappy with a great bite in the finish. They should maybe call this IPA. cheapdark (2050), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Slightly darker than a pale yellow american lager. There are some red hints in the color. The aroma has a sour chocolate olfactory. The choco thing carries over into the taste of grapefruit rind flavored chocolate. Decent carbonation. Hoppy and offensive at times. Shocks you into a reality that is almost IPA. Finish is building bitter medicine that coats the back of the palate. FROTHINGSLOSH (2047), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2005 Updated: Aug 26, 2007These beers only recently became available in my area. I am not very familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a copper color with only a trace of a white head that faded quickly. The aroma was musty and lightly fruity. The flavor is must, a bit nutty and has a spicy hop element. The finish is bitter. An acceptable pale but nothing special. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2004 Amber color smallish head.
Intense caramel aroma. The maltiness percieved in the aroma failed to show in the flavor. Mild hop in the finish. Big promises that weren’t fully realized, but still an enjoyable brew. Indra (2041), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 16, 2003 Rather slight hoppy, citrus aroma, some pine and malt sweetness. Light golden amber color, with an uneven, slight but creamy head and respectable lacing. Flavor is decently balanced, having a fresh, flowery, fruity hoppiness and sweet, honey-caramel maltiness. Gently spicy, citrusy and clean finish. Palate is lightly creamy, body is light-medium. Makes for some easy drinkin'. So far the best of the Wolaver's line in my opinion, though that might not be saying much. Angeloregon (2038), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Pours a rich copper-amber body and a fluffy cloud-like whitish head. Big caramel-candy nose. Medium-soft mouthfeel. Metallic presence lingers after first sip. Distinct bitter grapefruit and citrus finish. Not too bad, but a little oxidized. Snojerk321 (2037), San Diego, California, USA
