COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a highly drinkable amber ale with delicious hop flavors and aromas, available in 6 pks and on draft. The second beer from Wolaver’s to be named in honor of an organic farmer. Frustrated that organic hops had to be shipped in from overseas, we set out to find a more local source. Pat Leavy agreed to grow organic hops for our brewery and this All American ale is brewed with his organic Fuggles, Goldings, and Magnum hops, and American-grown organic malted barley. We salute America’s organic farmers- especially Pat Leavy! Cheers!

Light amber coloured beer..small off white head..not very impressive looking. The aroma is totally none-descript..some bready malts is all I can make out. Taste is marginally better more biter hops, but still that bready malt backing. Kinda thin for style in the mouth. Not impressed by this beer. Has no business in Oregon!

12 oz bottle from Bier Stein. Pours an extremely light amber color with a big white head and solid lacing. Aroma of toffee malt and earthy/citrus hops. Flavor more toffee with earthy hops and a slight bitterness and astringency that’s off-putting. This isn’t terrible, but neither is it good.

I do love this beer too. The body is just grain, grain, grain. Nice bitter to round out the beer. One of my favorite ambers.

Light amber color, clear. Modest head which surprised me given that the bottle bubbled over. Light lace. Well-balanced aroma of malt/hop. Slightly sweet--berry like. The flavor is far more dry than the smell would suggest. The carbonation was enough to overflow the bottle; it really cuts the otherwise decent body. Good bitter aftertaste. A middle-of-the-road amber.

Bottle. Pours a thin, translucent cheddar orange with an aroma of grassy corn, grainy malt, and a touch of field grass. Nice white head sits atop the beverage. Flavor is a tart bready mass of corn syrup hay, with hints of rose and baked sour fruit. Average mouthfeel. Nothing to shout about.

20090503 12oz bottle from Spirits RB. Medium amber with small lasting off white head and streaky lace. Aroma is fruity and grainy, a bit like a sweetened breakfast cereal with raisins and dates. Some cedar notes. Light to medium body with satisfying maltiness and mild eff. Quick earthy finish. Disappointingly strong where it could be a fair session beer. I’m not sure what possessed me to buy a six pack of this beer as I’m not usually too excited about Otter Creek stuff.

Draft. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Sweet tangy caramel malts with a lighter hoppy body. Pine and some chewy malt character. Not so good.

Pours a five finger white head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Nice crystal clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Flavor is some caramel, hops, lingering bitter aftertaste. $1.95 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA.

Straw amber color with a decent sized head. Right of the bat this one has a lot of hops going on (as advertised), with a few different tastes coming through. There’s a toasted it as well as something that smells vaguely caramel. As for taste, it doesn’t disappoint either, with the toasted flavor predominating. Fairly thin palate, but that’s ok if you’re looking for a fair accompaniment to grilling or just drinking as is. A decent new beer from Wolaver’s.

Pours a medium bodied amber with an off-white foamy head. Light aromas of hops with a touch of caramel malt. Taste of light hops and a touch of caramel. Watery. Bitter end. Nothing special here.
