UPDATED: NOV 18, 2011 First rating of this! It is called their organic pumpkin ale, and it appears to be a new pumpkin release, altho RB is rolling it into the Will Stevens pumpkin ale category. Another in the Wolaver’s series of Vermont-made organic ales, which I just discovered are made by Otter Creek. This has a fruit and spice aroma, with a bit of cardamom and raisin. It tastes very nice - the spices are light and blend well with the ale. I tasted cinnamon, clove, pumpkin, and a touch of cheese. Definitely one of the better pumpkin ales, and one of Wolaver’s better releases.

Nice initial aroma of sweet malt, yeast, and spices. Copper brass pour with small head. The flavor is very nice, with the right amount of nutmeg and a touch of Will and Judys pumpkins. It feels fresh on the palate. Will Stevens Pumpkin Ale is dry, pleasant, and spicy, but also on the light and mellow side. Definitely not an extreme beer.

Hazy orange with an off-white head. Lemony citrus hops, light pumpkin aroma. Flavor is similar with the lemon killing me. Not bad, but I don’t enjoy the interaction of hte pumpkin and lemony hops.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours copper with a thick, light beige head. Aroma of pumpkin, spices, some caramel malts, and a decent amount of hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent pumpkin beer.

For me this beer was to watery for a pumpkin style, still tasty just not enough behind it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, labeled Wolaver’s Pumpkin Ale; no mention of Will Stevens. Pours hazy dark orange and red with a small beige head. Aromas of pumpkin and light cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. Some brown sugar. The flavor is sweet sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and a bitter grassy finish. Crisp, with medium carbonation. Average.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The pumpkin flavor is very subtle with a pretty bitter finish. A different style than the sweet pumpkins that I prefer. An overall decent beer. Just not what I was expecting

Best aroma of the ones I have tried in this variety - nutmeg, pumpkin custard, some yeast. Cloudy orange color and a thin white head and soapy lacing. Flavor is sweet and lightly spicy with tastes of pumpkin pie that linger on the palate. This is definitely one of the better pumpkin beers from the ones that I have tried.
