Early in the season for this.....2013 version labeled as Wolaver’s Pumpkin Ale......pours a copper color with an off white head which hangs around for a bit and laces well. Aroma of nutmeg, orange, allspice, and sweetness. Taste is full of spices with little pumpkin taste, perhaps this was too early to try it as the spices overwhelm any other flavor, with a decent mouthfeel. Bitterness is the last sensation after the hit of spice.

Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a small off white head. Nose is rich pumpkin muffin, nutmeg, cinnamon. Palate full and rich, coats the mouth and light tingles on the tongue. Flavor of pumpkin, sugar granules and cinnamon, bready malts.

12 oz. bottle. oil slick pour. Hazy golden orange. Bubbly off-white head, tiny bit of lacing on the glass. Aroma of spicy cinnamon. Flavor of nutmeg and vegetable. Malty and pumpkin in the back. Medium mouthfeel. Good bit of carbonation, that you can feel from the middle to the back of your tongue. This one isn’t over flavored, but may be a tad under-flavored.

Bottle. An unclear amber beer with a frothy white head. Weak aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, caramel; metallic. Same flavors in the taste, metallic and somewhat bitter finish. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

Will Steven’s Pumpkin Ale pours a deep clear copper color with minimal head and no lacing. The aroma is defintely on the spicy side with small amounts of pumpkin coming through. Cinnamon, cloves, and brown sugar are the main aromas. Same really goes for the taste. Spices dominate. Cinnamon came to mind at first, followed by the cloves and brown sugar. The pumpkin is there but is hiding most of the time. Up front are the spices and in the end the spices linger on the tongue. The mouthfeel is very clean, medium bodied, and goes down easy. This is not a pumpkin ale to write home about but I’m glad I got to try it. There is just so much better out there.

16 oz. draft. Light amber pour with a decent sized head and lacing. Smell is cinnamon, nutmeg a touch of pumpkin. Taste is caramel, spice, just enough pumpkin to notice. Average pumpkin ale, suffers from too much spice and not enough pumpkin as many in this genre do. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Deep golden amber color. Foamy off-white head. Nose was malty and bready, nutmeg. Flavor was heavy bready malts, not very bitter, not much spice. Barely any pumpkin, so its not really more than a lager in character. Thick palate. It was ok.

Great dark amber color and has a really nice pumpkin aroma with nutmeg. Flavor is a little on the bitter side and leaves a fairly bitter aftertaste. Not an all autumn day drinker, though alright for one or two.
