Bottle. Bright golden yellow with an average white head. Low aroma of buckwheat and orchard fruits. Clean grainy palate with a lovely fruitiness (fresh pear, light lemon) leading into a moderately bitter finish. Nice malts here, don’t know how they pulled it off, but they managed to avoid the usual gluten-free fiasco of apple juice and rice water. As a gluten free product this was excellent; perhaps more importantly, as a eer on its own terms this was very tasty as well. If I became celiac, I could drink this without feeling deprived.

Foffern (772) - Bodø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2013
Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. The beer has a very light straw colour and very little foam and is pretty carbonated. The aroma is dominated by sour fruit peel, dextrose, slightly cooked vegetables and straw. The taste is slightly sweet with more touch of pale malt, hops and slightly tart and dry finish. Have a light and watery mouthfeel and a light to medium bitterness. A bit strange and weak beer, and seems a bit unbalanced.

Bottle. Appearance: light orange, dirty white thin head. Aroma: caramel, vanilla, so sweet, bananas, kind of skunky. Odd. Flavour: quite hoppy for a moment but then almost instantly makes way for sweetness, lots of malt, lots of carbonation, a decent bitterness that has a banana like flavour running through it. Medium length malty finish.

500ml bottle. Clear pale golden colour with small, frothy, fading, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has notes of tangerine and gooseberry. Taste is initially moderately sweet fruity with notes of yellow berries, a floral touch, later slightly grainy and husky; light body.

Bottle from Meny Manglerud enjoyed at home
Quite pale, white head. Smells of malts, grain, hints of honey and hops. Moderate sweet, fruity, some melon and corn, not the best malt base in this one. Moderate bitter, some english hops. Quite average beer - not one i’m gonna try again

DruncanVeasey (6179) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2013 Bottle. Streaming, anaemic gold sustaining a bright white, thick and uneven foam. Fine dishcloth, dank lemon and lime, brittle leafy aroma with suggestions of kaffir and dried curry leaf. Good, uncomplicated, limey hop underscored with crackery malt flavour. Like cask JHB but better. Could happliy spend a few hours contemplating the aroma, body and flavour of this on a summer’s afternoon, or right now come to think of it. A brace of excellent offerings from Wold Top tonight; scoring this up all round because the absence of gluten is incidental to the flavour- of which there is plenty. Tasty, brittle, floral stuff and a fine GA.
