Bottled 05/06/12. A nice orangey coloured beer with an off-white pool of head and lacing. A good citrussy beer. Oranges and lemons. Quite juicy. A little sweetness to balance. Really good.

Just another really good yet really shitty day... Im sure tomorrow will be much better after I open a beer at 1:04am. Crystal clear deep gold brew with an almost nonexistent white head that somehow keeps leaving messy lacing. Fresh aroma of dry wild field grass, toasted malts an a faint yet strong citrus ending that flows in an out. Nice overall malty aroma. Damn these English beers - just so freaking drinkable. Malty with sharp citrus that comes in near the end right before the pleasant bitterness hits. Cereal, grassy, weak orange and a bitter / bready finish. Very balanced and damn I love everything about this. Very good beer.

500ml bottle pours a pale golden amber color with a 2 finger white head that lasts a bit and eventually reveals some thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light citrus and grass with some cereal grains and light toasted malts. Taste is grassy and citrus bitterness balanced enough malt sweetness leavng a dry finish on the palate. A little bolder than the other offerings I have tried from this brewery, yet another surprising brew.

500ml brown bottle. Pours clear and gold. Airy whitish cap, very light lacing. Nose has lemon/citrus, some wheat/cereal notes. In the mouth the beer has wheat malts, mild toasted malt, light fruitiness, orange peel, lemon. Dry finish with toasted malt and some wheat tang, mild hoppiness lingering. Light bodied, soft carbonation. Quaffable. Pretty much spot on when I think of a light UK golden ale, a bit more solid than Angler’s Reward which I just had a night before.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before Sep 2012 and poured into an ’Abbot Ale’ glass tankard in Oct 2011. Looked fine, a good light/golden amber body with a thinish white crown of foaming bubbles on top. The small was of floral hops and mixed fruits (apples and pears?). The taste was mostly hops with a dryness from the first sip which lasted until the mouth was completely empty. Claims to be a summer drink, which I suppose it is, being light in colour and refreshing. Not a lot of flavours within it, a bit one dimensional with the hops dominating everything else that might have been in the brew. OK, but not something I’d buy a crate of.

Sainsbury’s Beer Challenge. A clean and pleasant pale beer with some smudgy citric hops. Bit yeasty in the finish, though I think this is filtered. An unremarkable golden summer beer. OK. Certainly quite drinkable.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Golden coloured with a white head and plenty of carbonation. Light, leafy hop aroma with some cereal malts. Sweet flavour with tangerines, limes and a biscuity, dry finish. Good.

Bottle at home in London. Part of the British Open of Beers. Pours clear, shiney, yellow-gold with a fine, white head. Zesty citrus aroma, hints of tart fruit, light pine. Lightly sweet flavor, tons of pithy citrus bitterness, faint bread. Light bodied with fine, fizzy carbonation. Crisp, clean and lightly dry finish, some zesty pine, light sweetness, short to medium linger bitterness. Not bad overall. Character could be a bit more robust, but really not bad.
