Strong and well hopped for the voyage sending IPA from the Wolds to the World. Interestingly brewed with a pale Wold grown malt base, a triple hop blend and Maize for the head retention. Such triple hopped beers need hot full flavoured foods to accompany them!

Medium offwhite head. Clear yellow body. Floral orangey mint aroma with strawy notes. Dry-sweet resiny orange zest and grapes taste with strawy dusty notes. Mid-bodied. MIld, soft mouthfeel. Dryish salty orange zest aftertaste with spicy herbal grape notes. Nice, drinkable, different. (0.5l bottle, from Co-op, Whitby.)

Pours pale, bright golden amber, with a brief, small white head. Mild hay and lemon gras aroma. Much more flavour on the palate: classic English IPA. Balanced hops and malt, with more grassiness and a bitter finish.

500ml Bottle: BBD end of Aug 2013. Poured into a UK pint sleeve on 1 Jul 2013 at home. Orange to light amber body, almost clear: on top a full and deep uneven carpet of white bubbles. Mixed bag of flavours and smells: the nose was both fruity and spicy with a malty backbone. The taste also both fruity and spicy, again with malts hanging around, however the hops also added a new dimension, a semi-dry bitterness that pushed the malts into the background even further than in the aromas. Some yeasty notes in the taste also. Good body depth and the alcohol level suited the brew. All in all a good beer.

500ml brown bottle. Golden brew, thin soapy white head, spotty lacing. Nose has weak malt and caramel. Taste has sweet caramel malts, a bit of orangey/marmalade hop, sweet in the mouth. Very light bitterness, aftertaste is malty, grainy and caramelly with light citrus. Light body with thin carbonation. Examining the label, it says this is certified gluten free. Its not bad for a GF brew, overall a bit thin and underhopped, yet still drinkable.

500ml bottle. Pours clear pale amber. A decent amount of carbonation and an ok white head. Pretty decent aroma of malt, toast and bread with some toffee sweetness and fruit. Its fairly full and foamy in the mouth and has a fairly malty, sweet flavour with a hops and some alcohol present but not huge and a pretty mild bitterness at the end. Not bad.

Bottle to pint glass Lemon, hops, sweet grass, and hay. Nice clear effervescent amber with a thin white head. The taste is a classic English IPA with lemon and hay; pretty much as expected from the aroma. The bitterness is there, but muted.
