Strong and well hopped for the voyage sending IPA from the Wolds to the World. Interestingly brewed with a pale Wold grown malt base, a triple hop blend and Maize for the head retention. Such triple hopped beers need hot full flavoured foods to accompany them!

Bottle in Spainsbury’s beer-off. Shining gold without inclusions under a skim of white froth. Aroma initially canned corn and phosphorous warming into more promising English woodland and mandarin. Taste: good tangy satsuma hop rounded with lingering malt suggesting cashew. More of that slightly dank English woodland taste I can’t quite capture: Coombe Abbey? Creamy mouthfeel, dabs of heat, peach, well-poised bittersweetness, almond. Slightly saline. Not bad.

500ml brown bottle, filtered, from Waitrose. Clean sweet biscuit malt with moderate hop levels giving a slightly unbalanced beer. For my taste I would prefer fewer hops and more malt character. Drinkable but not my thing and I had low enjoyment of this.

Bottle split at CC2, 05/03/16, big thanks to Mr Pink. Clear golden blonde with a decent off white cap. Nose is pale malts, straw, light bread, orange. Taste comprises grain, orange peel, lemon rind, bready notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bittering close. Not my idea of an IPA !!! Extremely whelming for the style.

Bottle share at Cotteridge II as ’Wold Top Scarborough Fair’. Dark yellow, clear and still, small foamy white head. Aroma has some light lime, flowers, fruity biscuits. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste has more fruit biscuits, a little floral and dry, sugary malt. OK.

Butelka 500 ml. Zloty kolor. Piana biala mala szybko sie redukuje. Aromat owocowy malo tu cierpkiego zapachu typowej IPY. W smaku rowniez bardzo blado . Cytrusy gdzies w tle . Pierwszy lyk przypominal bardziej plyn do zmywania naczyn . Jest lekka goryczka ale brakuje reszty. Jak dla mnie slabe...

Bottle at CWC II; surprised I’d never had this before, crystal clear light golden pour with a thin white head, aroma has citrus action along with a hint of grain, taste has sweet bread, citrus and some sweet malts, a hint of grapefruit.
