3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire Festival, 25th Feb 2011. The first time Iíve tried a beer simply because itís been featured in that gallery of infamy, Pumpclip Parade. Clear dark copper looks. Nice peppery hop flavour with enough malt to balance it. Good firm palate. Spicy nose. Given the pumpclip, I was really impressed!

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2009 Dark, syrupy brown with a white lacey head Bitter oily aromas, burnt sugar and straw both make an appearance. Roasty malts with the powdery sweetness of drinking chocolate. A nasal lightly hopped aftertaste. A fizzy beginning, followed by a smoothness and then an oily mouthfeel. A little grating on the tongue but overall well balanced.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Dark, cloudy reddish brown, full of sediment. Creamy head. A hint of chocolate in the aroma and taste, but itís basically a slightly pedestrian malty beer with a very faint bitter finish. Not particularly exciting. As a general rule I disapprove in principle of beers which feature drunken animals and provocatively clad females (see Wonkey Donkey and Elsie Mo). The eponymous íVickyí is a pneumatic young lady who is depicted on the label standing up to her waist in a beer glass and apparently shampooing her hair. You may be disappointed to hear she is wearing a swimsuit.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Gravity, Merton Winter Beer Festival. Brown with a nice white head. Peanut shell and brown bread aroma. Husky sour brown flavor, a fair amount of sweetness, but a tanic finish. Some good old-fashioned character here, but a bit unfocused.
