3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7137) - Bochum, GERMANY - OCT 22, 2011
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a blond and huge foamy head. Distinctively lemon-fruity and zesty aroma with flowery notes in the background. Mildly sweet flavour with a touch of sourness, medium to light bodied with a lively carbonation. Slightly grainy and citric pale malt-character with present spicy and herbal notes towards the dry finish. 13.X.11

Bottle. Pours cloudy gold. White head. Nose and taste of yeast, lemon, apple and light breads. Taste has some sheet metal notes in it, which is a bit off putting. Could be a bad bottle? Medium body.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 17, 2011
{thoughts} Strikingly similar to Duvel, except for a citrus rind addition.
{elements} Hazy, peach hue; very tall, white foam. Duvel-like pilsner malt and banana aroma with an addition of citrus. Moderate sweetness, moderate acidity, light-moderate bitterness; acidity and carbonation play down the sweetness, making it seem fairly dry. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, creamy texture.

Refreshing. soapy and citrus-like aroma. Very much like tripel. Palate is dry. Flavour has citrus too and it is rather close to Duvel. Pleasant, but does not reach the top.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Martinus (663) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JUL 7, 2011
Golden colour, firm white head. Aroma malty, light hoppy, quite pronounced yeast. Vanilla, apricot, some white pepper. Flavour malty, apricot, quite sweet. Pleasant bitterness coming through. I quite like this one! Though I’m taking into account that part of the appeal might be that this beer was my break from Jupiler and Dommelsch @ Rock Werchter.
