UPDATED: APR 25, 2010 Deep black pour, red glow when hold to a light source. Medium creamy tanned head. Aroma of floral hops, liquorice, spices, sweet fruit and plum. Awesome. Flavour is medium bitterness with coffee, smoke, peat, hops and liquorice, evolving into some sweetness with fruit, raisin and liquorice, back to a deep lingering bitterness smoothing out slowly. Reminds me of great trappisten quads. Very nice beer.

(Bottled my Belgian Strong Ale #400) Clear, deep ruby red with a medium, firm and lacy head. Caramely-malty, dried-fruity nose with lots of licorice and some anise. Flavor is caramely, grainy-malty, slightly sweet, syrupy, with very little hop bitterness. Alcohol hides behind the sweetness. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. A bit too sweet, and not very complex - but otherwise enjoyable Belgian strong. 7337

Bottle, 33 cl. Dark brown beer with a red shine, medium white-beige head that lasts perfectly, also a lacing beer. Aroma is fantastic: some caramel and chocolate smell combined with dry fruits and malts, going a light sweet touch to it. Taste is malty with a hoppy background at first. The caramel taste comes more to the foreground further in the beer. Finish is dry and bitter. Pallet is quite OK, but not devastating though (lacks a bit in complexity). Although I never heard of this beer before this is certainly a decent quality beer, without being superb however.

Countbeer (4752) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JAN 11, 2011
Bottle: Off white foamy head on top of an amber red brown beer. Smell is a dark sweet mix of light toasty malts, sweets, fruits and some malts and spices. Taste a sweet mix of malts, red and dark fruits, caramel, light honey, spicy and someyhing very light whiskey-ish. Well balanced maybe a bit too sweet.

Bought this bottle together with Wolf 7 at Tilburg Drinkt 2010. Liked this one better. Pretty sweet but still nice and a very good carbo and body.

From bottle at The Beer Brothers Zomerbierfestival, Mechelen. Burgundy brown with almost no head. fruity chocolate aroma. Delicious chocolatey pear and mellow fruit flavours. A very likeable beer.

Bottle at home. Very deep brown pour, thick creamy off-white head that leaves lacing. Aroma of dark malts, dark fruits, some cardboard, newspaper ink, plum and some vague nuts and licorice. Flavor is bitter licorice, slightly sweet but heavy malts, some more roasted malts in the finish together with a hint of coffee and more licorice. Very lively carbonation and a creamy texture. Very nice after all.

Bottle @ Bryglaug Belgian tasting.
Pours dark chestnut amber with a lovely, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has a bit of sharpness, phenolic, estery, chocolate, hazelnuts and a bit of yeast. Highish carbonation, light dryness. Flavour has chocolate, light raisins, softly vinious notes, caramel, estery. Long, lingering malty dryness. Very drinkable.
