3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bomber from Liquor Plus Douglas) A robust porter, I find the alcohol a little too strong on this one. Tastes like it should be 8%, not 6. Apart from that though, very oily mouthfeel with a nutty finish, as a good porter should have IMHO.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark pitted fruits and chocolate with some hints of coffee. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a light coffee and hop bitterness. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. A pretty good porter that is worth sampling.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark pour with a thick brown head. Aroma is roasted males, coffee and a little earthy. Flavour is the same. Quite roasted and fuller bodied for a porter. Nice.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
A 650 ml bomber from Legacy Liquor in Vancouver. Not much need be said about this one. A very average and enjoyable porter with coffee and chocolate overtones. Highly drinkable, but little complexity. A simple porter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with little head. Aromas of roasted malts, nuts, and instant coffee. Oily as stated, though still has lots of carbonation. Flavors of roasted malts and watery dark fruit. It’s light. OK it’s a porter, but something is missing. It’s refreshing (odd comment for a porter) but not lasting.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Darkest brown, just a hint of amber hue shines thru; frothy mocha head quickly fades. Rich sweet roasty malt aroma. Tastes of coffee, dark roasted malts, dried fruit. Surprsingly thin and watery. Low hopped, softly carbed, thin bitter finish. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
650ml bottle from liquor store in Nanaimo. Pours a murky brownish black with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, weak dark fruit, light hops. Flavour was reasonably bitter and porter like but not nuanced and very watery in mouthfeel. Left the palate to quickly. Boring.
