Nice gold, small loose head. Aroma a little grainy with some honey which builds up over time. Gently bitter malty body. Soft palate, carbonation low. A simple bitter, but perfectly serviceable. Plenty of esters in the retronasals, which gives it some character.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - lemon and pale malt. Light toffee. Taste - lemon barley water. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - unexciting but balanced.

Bought the beer based on the association with the great dame Edith Cavell. Pleasent aroma, quite murky but tastes well. Good beer that tastes much stronger than the 3.7. Enjoyed.

Hand-pulled pint (pump clip of Edith Cavell) on 20th April 2014 in The Kings Head, Lingwood. Good amber colour with a full white head that produced some impressive lacing. Semi-sweet floral hop aroma and taste, tastes heavier than 3.7% ABV and itís body depth implied a stronger brew too. Not complex or different, just a well made session ale that has enough character to make you want another.
