Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England May 13, 2004 Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London. Amber with a just the thinnest of ringlets clinging to the edge. Absolutely gorgeous. The most immaculately conditioned beer, it truly was a special. Smooth butter scotch and honey flavour wonderfully contrast against mellow, yet firm hops. The hoppiness extends from the middle of the beer and to a long extended finish. I didn’t note too much down about this beer but rather freewheeled and enjoyed it fully, like a normal person not in the grip of a ratings addiction. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Jul 25, 2005 Bottle. Lightly hazy golden colour with a huge white head. Fresh hoppy aroma. Nice hoppy bitter flavour with a touch of grapefruit; very crisp and refreshing. Nice, I’d like to try it from cask. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark Aug 17, 2005 Cask conditioned. Deep amber coloured. Fruity and hoppy aroma and flavour. Bitter finish. Very quaffable. chriso (4683), London, Greater London, England Oct 4, 2004 Bronze colour. Strong floral, fruity, hop aroma. Spicy hop and orange peel flavour underpinned by more fruit and some subtle malt. Dry, quite bitter finish. Very crisp and refreshing. Excellent stuff. Cask, GBBF 2004, with Dan Brown.
DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Aug 9, 2004 GBBF, London, gravity. Sampled with chris o and ungstrup. Orange beer, with a smooth, very thin head. Very good stuff: a real clean and fully formed hoppy flavour, with plenty of grapefruit. Refreshing. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Jan 21, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at The Crown. Standard blonde with a thin white head. Perfect hoppy stuff with lemon and earthy notes plus a nice dryness. Aroma is just slightly better. Sessionable and very tasty. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Mar 25, 2008 Cask at The White Horse with renffisch and tashi. Clear golden amber with a line of white head. Dry hoppy aroma that carries on in the taste but is nicely balanced by biscuity malt. Soft, dry finish that lasts. A good hoppy pint and very sessionable as Mes points out! EFC1878 (291), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Mar 21, 2009 Cask at the Wigan Beer Festival. Gold/amber colour with white head. Hoppy aroma, citrussy hop taste with a good malt counterbalance. Crisp finish. A very good session beer.
