3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Calabasas location. Pours with a muddy/turbid hued orange (deep hue for the style) with a small off-white head. Aroma is strongly of isoamyl acetate, spicy phenols, cumin (which gives an earthy body odor note that is not entirely appetizing), sweet, caramel like, medium spicy and lightly floral/citrusy hop, candied ginger, citrus zest. Flavors are of dried ginger, more isoamyl acetate (banana), cumin, pretty sweet. The cumin/spicy notes donít work to well in this beer (at least for my palate). Light musty, low citrusy and somewhat dry on the finish. Full bodied but not sweet. Low malt character, warming. Light phenol character. Alcohol delivered in a slightly sharp manner, slightly soapy. Medium bubbles. Lots of alcohol.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a cloudy orange color with a small white head. Strong banana aroma, a definite alcohol, strong cumin, and some sweet citrus. Mildly spicy (other than the cumin, of course), some caramel maltiness, and a bit of toast. The flavor is fairly sweet with a lot of candied citrus, caramel, and sugar notes. Strong cumin, orange, and a bit of clove/coriander. Not really a big fan of the cumin in this. Just a bit too earthy for me.
