DruncanVeasey (1720), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany May 14, 2008 BC from Hunstanton Tossco, 4%. Pale, shining and clear, but swimming with chunks. Sharp citric aroma with cubes of lemon and lime jelly. Yep, that’s exactly it. Woodsy fibrous hop, cleaning product and slight metal, also. Fresh and zesty mandarin-sodden flavour with a nibble of Brett (or the impression of it), and soft, creamily peanutty malt late on. Mellow tinned mandarin/tangerine cheesecake finish without the hop bite I was expecting. Massive sessions potential. In a parallel universe, what lager tastes like. An unusual golden ale either brilliantly hopped, or laced with fruit juce, and I don’t care which.
