A wonderful, rich, malty beer. It has masses of flavor and a slightly sweet finish. Dangerously drinkable!
Ingredients: Pearl pale malt, crystal malt, chocolate malt, wheat malt. Goldings and Challenger hops.

What a ridiculous name for a beer. "I’ll have a half of granny, please". Cask @ The Tanners Hall, Darlington. The pour’s a tawny reddish brown color with a small white head. Classic ESB appearance, really. The nose ius red berries, strong caramel sweetness, light grass. The taste is more rich, sweet caramel. A hint of chocolate. Slight accents of fruity apricot and red apple. Honeyed toast. Lightly dry finish. Robust. Overall, a decent effort. Pretty straight-forward stuff.

1/2 at The Tilley Stone Gateshead. I think it needwed a bit longer to settle, as it was a bit Hazy. Chestnut Brown with a thin off white headCaramel aroma. Caramel flavour with dark nutty chocolate. Smooth creamy palate, I look forward to another when it’s settled a bit more.

500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, minimally lacing, white to off-white head. Grainy, minimally spicy aroma, malt basis is minimally sweet and fruity. Taste is moderately sweet fruity, a touch of strawberry, a minimal tart touch, increasing dry and wheaty overtones, dry finish, prickling carbonation throughout.

On tap somewhere! Clear dark brown beer. Dry and semi soft palate. Fruity and rich. Plummy fruit with hints of other dark red fruits, even a trace of blackcurrant. Finishes dry with repressed spice.

Tasted this in cracking condition in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in February 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear ruby red in colour with a thick buff head. Smokey roast malt in the long aroma and creamy mouthfeel. Good lacing throughout. Dark malts give a maltloaf base with a slight toffee edge in the mouth. Dry hop note in the aftertaste along with oak wood tannins. Robust malt returns in the sweet smokey finish. An excellent session ale and my favourite so far from the Wolf portfolio.
