3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Bright, coppery beer with a slim cream foam. Aroma of hazelnut, slight sick bowl, hedgerow fruit. Soft, slightly woody and lactic in feel; herbal hop with suggestions of tea leaf and fennel seed, solid malt character (some oatmeal?) as Wolf’s beers tend to have; digestives, cashew, dusting of beef Monster Munch. Decent, rounded bitter.

Clear copper hued pour. Big, creamy light tan head. Big lacing left behind as it slowly drops. Huge malt aroma. Some notes of iced tea. Some biscuit and light hops. Big malt taste. Again some biscuit. A little sweet, with minimal bitterness. Not bad at all.

23rd December 2010
Clear amber beer, tidy off white head. Crispy palate, slightly dry. Standard malts but then pleasantly zingy hops. Lemon citrus. Bubblegum sweet ester. Semi dry finish. Good bitter and always a pleasure drinking a beer that serves charity.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Red amber colour, a bit hazy. Strange, but not unpleasant aroma of sweet red fruits and yeast. Really smooth, pleasing mouthfeel. Flavour has a bread dough, yeasty edge and a fragrant hoppy dry finish.

Bottle 0,5ltr: Amber coloured brew with an nice fruity taste and not so bitter aftertaste at all. Despite the low percentage of alcohol it tastes not so.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sep 2011: This is the second beer I’ve had from the 2010 70th Anniversary of the RAF’s Battle of Britain collection (I got four different ones).
Lovely amber look, off-white head on top, some good lacing hung around throughout the tasting.
Malts in the aroma and in the taste, mildly roasted shortbread biscuits came to mind, but with as much salt and sugar in the mix.
A very easy drinking session beer, it was reviewed 3 months after it’s Best Before Date, but you couldn’t tell.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Clear mid brown beer with disappearing beige head. Some burnt toast malt. Not much bittterness. Bit fizzy to be honest so I swirled it vigourously and the flavours picked up, some yeast character, some burnt toast, some good tingle on the finish. OK best bitter.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Bronze with a small creamy head and a gentle bitterness. Lots of body for its relatively low strength. Some maltiness adds to the complexity. A well above average bitter.
