[bottle] Sour and dry fruity aroma with strawberries and a little celery. Hazy dark yellow under white fizz that drops quickly despite considerable effervescence. The flavour is refreshingly sour and dry, but not quite pickle juice. Lotus root malt flavour together with a blend of tropical and citrus fruits. Light body, high carbonation, sourness quickly becomes a gentle, watery finish. Mouth puckering.

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94 on 12/13/09: Pours a hazy pale golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Very sour funky lemon nose has some horseblanket and grassy fruity notes. Starts with pretty good effervescent fullness and lemon citrus tartness with a dry funky finish. Very crisp, tart and enjoyable. Very true to style.

finol (2191) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 18, 2010
Bottle. Pours yellow in a marker pen shade. Very complex for a low alcohol beer. Citrus, banana, pineapple and baking yeast. Sweet and acidic like berrys of the forrest

Beer4000 (4526) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 15, 2010
500 ml bottle. Hazy yellow body with a huge white head. Aroma is refreshing acidic with a fruitiness somewhere between lemon and Bret. Flavor is also extremely refreshing, lot of acid, fruity lemonish and not so much more. Nice considering this low alcohol.

Bottle. Pours strange yellow with a big white head. Citrus, icing sugar, banana and pineapple in the aroma. Big taste for a low alcohol beer! Sour of citrus and berries at first, then sweet of pineapple and icing sugar. Small vinousity in the aftertaste. It is as refresing as complex!

nimbleprop (4976) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - DEC 14, 2009
2005 vintage shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours a hazy, bright yellow with a lacing, fizzy white head. Nose is awesome: tart, lemons, funk, earthy, wheat, grass. Flavor is puckering, tart, lemons, grass, funk. Heavy carbonation. Refreshing and spritzy. This was very nice, an exceptional berliner weisse. A favorite of those at the tasting.

Lemon colour, thin white head, no lacing. Aroma is sour, acidic, wheaty, lemons. Flavour is sour, lightly acidic, lemon citrus, tart, fairly dry. Sour dry mouth, light body, high carb. Finishes fairly long, citrus, lemons, dry.

Highly drinkable Berliner, dry and full of flavour. Very well done.

500ml bottle obtained in a trade with Koelschtrinker, thanks Roman.
Opened March 2009.

Bottle. Musty, sour lactic acid and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy straw color with minimal head. Sour lactic acid, musty lemon, wheat malt flavor. Light barnyard aftertaste. Very gueuze-like, just a bit lighter. A great beer to drink on the 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
