Hazy yellow color, small white head. Sour, wheatish fruity aroma. Light to medium bodied. Fruity, tart, delicious flavor. A bit thin but otherwise excellent Berliner Weisse.

TET (2583) - Kaarina, FINLAND - MAR 26, 2011
Yellow ber with a big and white head. Aroma is very sour, white wine -like grapes and dry cider. Taste is also very sour, queze -like, some sweetness and lemon. Fresh, lot of carbonation and very refreshning to drink. Very refreshning beer with strong sourness; great beer for warm summerterrace .

Bottle (50 cl) from Bierkompass.de. Shady pale golden with a greenish tinge. Strong cidery and lactic aroma with green apples and some grapefruit. Light body, fizzy carbonation. Dry with strong acidity. A good thirst-quencher.

Bottle (50 cl), thanks larsniclas. Hazy golden, low head. Sour and funky with some vinager notes. A bit too sharply sour for my liking.

Embrouille (2835) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 9, 2011
Bottled 50cl. It pours a lactic golden beer with a quick diminishing fizzy white head. The aroma is reminiscent of dinosaur slime, horse blanket, faint plastic and lemon peel. Nice sourness. Remarkably leathery with hints of rubber and faint smoke. Delicate prickling palate. There is a nice bite to this beer. Dinosaur slime in the finish which is dry. Plenty of character. I really enjoyed this beer.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2011 500 ml bottle.
Pours a hazy yellow colour with a patchy white head. Aroma of sour green apples, grapefruit and orange. Flavour of similar elements with some spicy notes. Medium bodied with a light bitter, citrusy sour finish. Refreshing. Summery brew.

Edullinen pullo Bierkompassista. Ensimmäinen tämän oluttyylin olut minulle. Kaadettuna pitkään Franziskaner lasiin olut on keltainen ja samea. Wöllnitzer on hedelmäinen, kirpeä ja hapan olut. Mielestäni tämä muistuttaa paljon lambic-tyyliä. Pidin tästä.

In short: A superb light and very tart Berliner Weisse with a touch of funk and a touch fo smoke. Wow!
How: Bottle 500ml. Exact age unknown, probably not very old. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Clear yellow-blonde body topped by a white ring of foam
In long: Nose is a bit funky (more so than I am used in a Berliner Weisse), moderately acidic and a bit smoky (something I am not used to in a barley wine). An original an intriguing aroma for sure. Taste is crisp, citrusy, light wheaty notes, very tart, moderately acidic and a tiny little bit smoky. The body is light but not watery by any means, at least considering this is a 2.5% beer. Writing that this beer is refreshing and very much sessionnable would be just stating the obvious and would only serve the purpose to make my rating longer so that most people will just accept my high score as a proof that the beer is good because with such a long rating I must know what I’m talking about but the length of rating will not fool those who read a long rating until the end although I really doubt that someone can have so little to do with his life that he reads gibberish like this until the end.
