This beer is medium amber with an interesting scent of honey, grains and dirt. The flavor is a tad too sweet and sticks around subtly after finish. Went well with spicy wings, which were consumed after initial rating.

At table and vine beer tasting, Some corn character, a little wheaty and gritty. light marzen, nailed the style however.

12oz. Bottle (As Wolters Festbier): Aroma of malt, grain, vegetables, and slight grain. Poured apple juice/amber in color with a small, off-white head that disappeared except for around the edges. Clear. Sparkling. Some small particles throughout. Small lacing. Flavor is lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, hops, and vegetables. Light to medium body. Tingly, then lightly dry texture. Average to lively carbonation. Malt, hop, vegetable finish.

Green 11.2 oz bottle, purchased @ Julio’s Liquors for $1.55 with Wild Six discount. Almost clear yellow, light carbonation. Very thin white head. No lace. Light skunky nose. Taste is light Euro hops, mild malt and skunk. Thin watery body. Tastes like a watered down Heineken, I wouldn’t ever drink this again.

Green bottle festbier. 11.2 oz bottle. It pours an amberish gold with a frothy white head that actually leaves some nice lacing. Smell is lightly skunked, it smells like a beefed-up Euro Pale Lager. It is like if you made an EPL maerzen. The flavor follows, it is a bit more malt forward than the nose would suggest, but it is pretty basic, and weak for a Festbier.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Pint. Appearance: Clear burnished gold (almost a light copper) with rapidly diminishing head leaving absolutely nothing behind. Aroma: Cherry and biscuit maltiness with metallic and spicy noble hops. Taste: Nice malts with biscuit, cherry and hay. Long lasting spicy bitterness at the end. Palate: Moderate carbonation, relatively light body, dry finish. Overall: Very solid, easy drinking Marzen.

33cl bottle. Pours golden-orange colour with not much head. The nose has notes of fine malts with just a hint of caramel, but no more than a hint. The taste has very pronouced hops from the beginning to the end - there seems to be notes of lemon intermingling notes of malt and caramel. The palate is unusual for a lager - there’s more texture and structure but not so much refreshment. Overall, I like it, though it’s not what I expected!
