Almost black with next to no head on it. Has a light roasted aroma but a medium roasted flavour.

imdownthepub (9622) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2013
Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Black with cream head. This tasted quite flat, grainy, earthy with a background bitter chocolate flavour. Caramel and coffee hints. Ok and drinkable, but not one to go back to.

Cask, Slug and Lettuce, Leicester. Black with a beige foam. Aromas are coffee and chocolate with earthy coal. Some blackcurrant with yeast. Flavours are dry roast malts with sweetish chocolate and some berry zest. Dry and earthy on the finish. Good.

jmgreenuk (3563) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 25, 2013
Cask at the Craven Arms, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a frothy tan head. The aroma roasted malt and coffee, leading to a smooth bitter liqourice flavour with coffee and dark chocolate. The smooth bitter palate lingers nicely into the finish.

DruncanVeasey (6950) - NUNEATON, Top 24, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2013
Cask, The Pub, Leicester, 18/05/13. Mahogany with a subsiding cappuccino collar. Griiled aubergine and cocoa dusted nose. Charcoal, burnt wood and grilled pepper notes. Bitter roasted finish lightened with cocoa. Twiglet stirs. Not bad.
