COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first of the Farmhouse Select Series: Original ’91. It’s a throwback to our early days in cider making. The year was 1991. A winemaker began tinkering with apples in a Proctorsville, Vermont garage. It gave birth to an original American hard cider. Woodchuck Hard Cider.

750ml cork and caged bottle. Pours yellow with a quickly dissipating head. Apple aroma. Lightly carbonated. Apple and slight sulfur taste. Becomes slightly cloying after a glass or so. Overall an ok cider. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

F**king awful, inauthentic rubbish. This is the liquid embodiment of the guy at school with loads of money who, in a go-kart competition would get his dad to build the slickest, most impressive looking machine with perfect wheel balance, comfiest seat etc.. and losing miserably against the kid who crafted a go-kart with character through months of hard graft and determination. sweetend to tast like apple juice

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a Spiegelau tulip. I really want to be able to appreciate cider.... A: I get straight sweet, green apples. A: Clear gold pour with a bubbly and thin white head. T: The nose, dead on. P: Medium bodied with almost no carbonation. O: Ciders scare me. They are so sweet and delicious that I feel like I could drink a million of them, but at 7%, that is probably a bad idea.

One whiff and you are in love: the mustiness of stored apples, made subtly sweet by their numbers. This is the very essence of fall. I consider this to be another example of a cider somewhere in between sweet and dry, perhaps quite similar to Crispin Honey Crisp. A delicious cider that leaves one wanting more.

Clean solid profile with clear golden liquid white foam. Just off dry. lots of apple aroma. Not much in the way of tannic or bacterial complexity. No discernible barrel contributions. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Clear, white wine color, soft carbonation and a very subtle apple aroma. Flavor is sweet but not overly so, with a background of tart apples, and hints of peaches and lemons. Leans sweet, but I like it, and it has a decent amount of complexity to it. Finishes with a balance of both sweet and tart apples.

Nice and crisp. Not overtly sweet. Serious grow up taste, not like an apple wine cooler. Weird initial aroma but don’t let that distract you the taste is amazing. Light apple flavor with a slight sweetness. Serious beverage. They recommend drinking in a schooner with cheese or pork.

Pours pale straw color with minimal white head. Aromas of sweet apples and some mustiness. Sweet apple flavor with musty and earthy tones. Light to medium body with minimal carbonation.

This was probably the worst Woodchuck product I have ever had. Watery pale amber pour. Aromas of watery apple wine. Flavor is much the same with absolutely no carbonation to speak of. Weak, boring, and bland. This was very disappointing.

6/1/13. 750mL bottle from Grassroots Natural Market. Golden amber pour with a small off-white head. Sweet apples and a touch of musty yeastiness in the aroma and flavor. I don’t know why I was expecting more out of this... fancy labeling, bottling, and a promise to dig up their roots... still disappointing.
