From notes: Poured pale amber with pretty much no head at all. Aroma of apple, with a mild woody note. Medium-bodied, slightly thick and slightly fizzy. Has the apple taste one associates with cider, but with a distinct wood note in the finish. Maybe a note of vanilla as it warms. Cider is not everyone’s cup of tea (so to speak), but this is a pretty good one if you’re looking for a change.

I’m definitely not an expert on cider but I found this to be very enjoyable with a little phoniness. The taste is obviously enhanced with syrups and additives, but it still shows some interesting notes from the oak barrels.

Pours out a clear gold with no head. Nice aroma of some tart green apple and a woodsy oak character with a candy-like vanilla-ness. Taste is pretty sweet yet tart, with a candy like green apple flavor, with some delightful vanilla and oak on the finish. Medium, tart, and doesnt finish dry. Not shabby!

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 3/27/12, as Woodchuck Winter

Aroma: The nose has a good amount of wood and apple, with some vanilla hints
Appearance: This one pours a clear yellow-gold with basically no head or lace
Flavor: The taste is fairly sweet, but the wood flavors do provide some balance here
Palate: The body is pretty light, but that woodiness gives it a pretty unique feel for the style
Overall Impression: I actually found this one really interesting. I don’t know how much I liked it, but I definitely found it interesting. It is certainly quite different from what I think of when I think of a Cider.

Oak aged cider... This one was a great light drinker. In the scent was a light but mellow wood and vanilla aroma with apples hiding in the background. Carbonation gives way to a crisp apple taste, but the finish is earthy and dry with a hint of oak. Not bad, I just wish the flavors were tad more intense.

This was a surprise. I really enjoyed the flavors in this one. Nose has some light oak and vanilla qualities with a spicy apple and imitation blueberry fruitiness. Apple juice colored with no head. Taste is more of the nose with plenty of vanilla and fruity apples. On the sweeter side. Good stuff.

Pours dark gold, no head. Aroma of cinnamon and apples. Taste shows off the oak really well, way more noticeable than I thought it would, nice apple flavor not real bland as I expected but certainly no complexity.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear old gold color with no head, just a ring of white bubbles. Aroma is apples. What a surprise? Things that might be there, but might just be my imagination: wood, cinnamon...The wood definitely comes through in the taste. The oak imparts a little vanilla. The carbonation is average, body medium to near-thin. This is definitely the best Woodchuck I’ve had. I tried rating the Summer one but they wouldn’t let me! Too alcopopish I guess...

Bottle. Smokey smell and vanilla. Taste is sweet and syrupy. Not bad. Was expecting it to taste like every other woodchuck
