I have a difficult time rating ciders. They all taste very similar to me. Plus, "hard" ciders are not really very "hard". 5% alcohol is the same as most beers. I’d love to see 10 or even 20% ciders. This has an average looking pour (for cider) yellow with almost no head. Smells like a Pop Tart. Tastes like a Pop Tart. Delightful apple and cinnamon flavor. This tastes good cold, room temperature, or warm. So far it’s the best cider I’ve ever had. But it’s wayyyyyyyyyyyyy over priced.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2014 "pretty nice cider. The oak comes through the bittersweet apple juuust enough to notice. Nice fruity aroma and lasting finish."

Reviewed from notes. I poured this into a pint glass and a wine glass. The appearance was actually the same in both: yellow to hazy orange color with a one finger white bubbly head that died pretty quickly. There wasn’t any lacing. The smell had some sweet and tart apple notes, and honestly, there’s a decent oakiness in there as well. I even got a light vanilla in there. The taste took those previously mentioned flavors and gave it the sweet and the tart and a light woodiness. On the palate, well, the harshness is there, but I expected that, still it seemed as it warmed, the harshness dissipated a bit and became a bit softer. Overall, hey, number two cider from Woodchuck I could do again.

Of the apple flavored soda pop ciders I’ve tried this is certainly one of the better ones. It has a little bit more to it than just sweet and tart apple notes. Specifically, it has a great deal of oak character. It pours slightly darker than apple juice in the glass w/ no head. It nose is sweet apple cider w/ a hint of spices. The oak character begins to take over once you taste it. It is sweet and apply to be sure but there it is punctiated by a bit woodiness and a ton of vanilla. The flavor combination works well and while it is perhaps not the most subtle use of oak, it does at least add something to seperate this out from a million other things in the same vein.

12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Light amber and clear with a fizzy, dissipating head. Aroma of mostly apples with notes of earth, wood, champagne and vanilla. Similar flavor, sweet and crisp with a light spice. Light body, crisp and tingly with carbonation and light tart finish.

Bottled as ’Winter’. Nose is simple sweet apple with medium tartness, pours clear orange with avg carb and a vanished head. Taste sweet and midly puckering in its tartness, has some vinous qualities with measured stillness, very faintly woody but the latter adds significant roundness as it swirls about the light alcohol. Light-medium body with a lightly tannic, wine-like aftertaste. May well be the most interesting of the Woodchuck ciders.

Pours a hazy honey-golden, not much head but this is cider. Strong aroma is very apply, no surprise, but very much of fresh apples, sweet and a little sour plus an alcohol kick. Fresh apple flavor has more sweetness than sourness and a subtle alcohol nip. Firm, fizzy texture leaves a nice sour apple finish. Chuck on down today.
