jeremytoni (1070), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2007 From bottle poured light yellow with very little head. Nice flavor of pears that was not too sweet. MTP (13), Waco, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2007 Enjoyable for a fruity pear cider. Draft was very aromatic and a little spicy. dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2007 12oz. One of the more interesting woodchucks I’ve had. The pear flavor goes better with some of the cheap wine harshness/sourness that some of these tend to have. Not too sweet, fairly refreshing. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 3, 2007 Very dry finish and quite peary in flavor. I kinda liked this one. Nice refresher at a beer festival. BallyLoser (134), Redmond, Washington, USA Sep 27, 2007 Sweet without a very strong flavour. Had a bit of a dry finish to it. Not one of my favs Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Sep 2, 2007 Color is a clear, very pale yellow - not good for a beer, but acceptable for pear cider. Aroma is strong and sweet, just like a pear, and very inviting because I love pears. Flavor is not strong, but it is delicious and refreshing, with just a hint of alcohol nip. Because it is so sweet and smooth, it could be insidious!
Good by itself, or a nice accompaniment to a meal or a party. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Aug 16, 2007 Musty pear and baby food aroma. Remarkably clear and Champagne colored. Sweet and sour pear flavor in good balance. The mustiness lingers a while, but it gives a little chaacter. It tastes like the 1950s, if that makes sense to anyone. Great novelty drink. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Aug 14, 2007 12oz bottle. Final non-sake style. Pours a clear, light straw color; headless, with an occasional effervescent bubble from the bottom of the glass. Watery aroma, with some pears and sugar. Light mouthfeel, with a decent concentration of pear and light apple cider flavor; very simple, slightly sugary, assertive mineral character; quite drinkable, but a weakling. Light, mineral and pear finish; a bit overripe.
