JohnnyOS (646), Golden, Wisconsin, USA Jan 2, 2006 Pours a pale yellow - similar to a sparkling white wine. Light aroma’s of pear and sugar. Taste is of apply sweetness with a pear finish.
A little too sweet for my tastes. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 18, 2005 Fairly sweet aroma is suggestive of pear flavoured boiled sugar candy. Clear pale coloured body with plenty of bubbles but no lasting head. Fairly sweet and sugary pear flavour. Spritzy carbonation does not last in the light body. Sampled on the PA trip 2005. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Dec 17, 2005 12oz bottle pours like champagne.. Sparkling bubbles just an offwhite color with very little head. Aroma is a little pear over apples. Very carbonated.. a fair blend of apples and pears. Definitely not malty like a beer but much more carbonated and soda-like. Palate is light sugary and much like a soft drink. Tastes fair. My first cider.. Brigadier (1220), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Dec 14, 2005 Extremely sweet with obvious tones of pear. More like a soft drink than a beer. hopscotch (5445), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 19, 2005 Bottle... Clear cider with a tiny, fizzy, white head that’s gone faster than you can say "quick." Ok, I’m getting a little fancy with the verbiage. Not much nose to speak of and, much like their raspberry cider, the flavor is way too sweet and soda-like. Light-bodied and fizzy. Short, sweet finish. I hate pear anyway. I don’t even like the pear notes found in many Belgian trippels, so this one had no real chance with me. If you like a sweet, fizzy, pear-like soda, this would be just the ticket. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Oct 24, 2005 Very pale yellow colored body with no head. The aroma is light pears with some vanilla. The taste is obvious pear juice with some sweet honey notes. There is also a light note of fall leaves. A decent macro perry. Fish (439), Kure, Japan Oct 23, 2005 Beer number 35 for me at the WBF in Durham, NC. This stuff is definitely better than the ACE Pear Cider, but I think I prefer the Woodchuck apples better--particularly the dry apple cider. Megan (101), Durham, North Carolina, USA Oct 9, 2005 Had at Beer Fest. Again this was a welcomed try after other typical beers. Very pear tasting, out of all of the Woodchucks this was my favorite. Light, watery palate but great aroma.
